Antibody

    [ antibody, immunoglobulin ]

    A protein produced mainly by plasma cells that is used by the immune system to neutralise pathogenic bacteria, viruses and other foreign substances in the blood.

    Antibodies, also called immunoglobulin, are secreted by B cells of the adaptive immune system.
